About Us
Slow Progress is an independent vinyl record and coffee shop located in Edinburgh's Old Town, opened in 2022.
We stock a curated selection of new vinyl across various genres; indie rock, alt-rock, punk, emo, hardcore, post-hardcore, post-rock along with an increasing selection of modern-pop, electronica, metal and hip-hop.
In the shop, we serve up fresh Santu coffee, hot and cold drinks, and snacks. We are vegan friendly so won't charge you extra for oat milk.
Come in for a drink and a browse, or order from the comfort of your own home to collect in-store or via our UK delivery service.

Getting Here
We are lucky to be close to many bus services, Lothian Buses 3, 5, 7, 8, 14, 29, X29, 30, 33, X33, 35, 45, 49 all stop on either South Bridge or High Street, a few minutes walk from the shop.
We are about a 10 minute walk from Princes Street and Edinburgh Waverley railway station.
Accessibility
The front of the shop is accessible, however the toilets and back room is up 5 quite steep stairs so not wheelchair accessible.
