We are excited to share details of the upcoming Throwing Muses 40th anniversary reissue. As some of the most requested titles by 4AD fans, these albums have been long out of print and highly sought after for years.

Throwing Muses hold a historic place as the first American band ever signed to 4AD. The signing was sparked by a chance encounter when label founder Ivo Watts-Russell listened to the band's self-released demo cassette, while stuck in traffic. Reflecting on that pivotal moment, Watts-Russell recalled: “I listened three or four times in a row. There was something so exciting about them—reminded me of The Birthday Party—the energy, the lyrics. The music was hard and aggressive, but the more you lived with it, the more their beauty came through.”
